Veronica Evonne Covington was born March 20, 1956 to Sadie Covington Petway and Charlie B. Covington. She departed this life on October 9, 2013 and went to be with her Lord and Savior to rest in eternal peace.

She was educated in the Williamson County School System and she worked until her health failed. Veronica enjoyed meeting people and always had an encouraging word, one of her joys was being around her family and friends. Veronica professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.

Veronica was preceded in death by her father, Charlie B. Covington; brother, Keith Covington; and sister, Deborah Russell.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted son, Jeremy Smith; devoted mother, Sadie (Gary) Covington Petway; brothers, Charles (Shirley) Covington of Eagleville, Tennessee and Thaddeus Ogelsby of Antioch, Tennessee; sisters, Caren (Kelly) Jones of Franklin, Tennessee, Mattie Mai (Allen) Stevenson of Seattle, Washington, Teressa (Rick) Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, Henrietta Johnson, Louvonne (Gregory) Jackson and Rebecca (Douglas) Hardy all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Elaine (Cleo) Butler of Smyrna, Tennessee; devoted nephews, Cedric Covington and Stephen Alred, Jr.; niece, Debricka Harris; uncles, Willie (Sadie) Covington of Eagleville, Tennessee, and Thomas Hardison of Nashville, Tennessee; aunt, Cordy Covington of Cincinatti, Ohio; great aunt, Savannah Floyd of Eagleville, Tennessee; devoted cousins, Timothy Hardison, Karen Covington, Fanny Harris, Rhonda Dixon; and other loving family members; devoted friends, Phyllis Smith, Shirley Ross, Joyce Smith, Odessa Glenn, Velma Jordan, Ludie Jordan, RL Lewis, Carol Floyd, Della Mai Anderson and a host of other friends.
